The Meridian Freedom Project (MFP) empowers youth in Meridian, Mississippi to become critical thinkers and active leaders in their communities. Through a combination of academic support, cultural exploration, and civic engagement, fellows are encouraged to examine social issues and develop their own informed perspectives. The program places a strong emphasis on leadership development, helping students build the confidence and skills needed to advocate for change. MFP also exposes participants to experiences beyond their local environment, broadening their understanding of the world and their place in it. Rooted in a supportive and values-driven community, the program fosters growth through relationships, accountability, and shared purpose. Through this approach, MFP prepares young people to pursue their goals while contributing to a more just and equitable society.
